S. A. T. W. P. Episode 46

Panoramic view from on top of the hill.

June 7th, 2017. Day 7.

Rexburg, ID

We are at the Magic Suds Laundromat.

Today we drove by way of a long and winding road.

Mountains along the way.

We woke up in Jerome, ID,  and after oatmeal we were on the road by 8:40 to Logan, UT.

We went though a construction zone and offered a flag-woman our sunscreen and she blew us a kiss. And some woman called Dave “Darlin'”.

Upon arriving in Logan we went right to Legacy House,  arriving about 2 hours early. Since we had extra time we took a walk to a nice grocery store 3 blocks away.

Dave says he got a Sit-bit to make sure he relaxes enough.

At the show, Stephanie talked to a woman who had written Dave’s name down last time he played there and was very happy to see him again.

A good show even though Dave forgot some lyrics and rhymed his way out of it. The jokes led into the song, good integration. The audience seemed joke-starved. After the show there was a long line of people who wanted to thank Dave.

There was a guy named Grant there who plays harmonica, Dave tried to get him to play.

Dave changed clothes in the van and then walked back in and talked to the woman who wrote his name down. She didn’t recognize him at first.

Scrabble! – Dave got all the good letters but barely managed to win.

Rexburg is interesting – we are staying at Beaver Dick Campground.

Captain Jefferson Hunt is buried at Red Rock Pass, we had an interesting stop there.

Stephanie reads his marker. Huntsville is named after him.

We went to Big Jud’s for tremendous burgers in Archer, ID. HUGE burgers. We talk about the meals and the huckleberry ice cream we had afterward.

They have 1 and 2 pound burgers. We saw one of the 2 pound burgers, it was the size of a flattened basketball. Even the water was good.

The mirror in the bathroom was too high for Stephanie.

Big Jud’s gets 6/7 tiles from Dave.

The boat at Big Jud’s – A truck with a boat on a trailer pulled up outside and a guy who had been laying in the boat jumped out, ordered some food and got back in the boat.

We are sunburned from our visit to the concentration camp. We got some water from a big box store and everyone was staring at the red redhead.

The sunscreen was laughing at us!

Eventually we headed to the Magic Suds Laundromat to do some laundry.

Probably off to Montana tomorrow.

The sign-off? Still not settled!
