S. A. T. W. P. Episode 43

The Snake River Canyon.

June 5th 2017. Day 5.

Jerome, ID.

After spending a night in a Wal-Mart parking lot (we slept in a bit, the insulation really helps muffle sound), we are now at the local KOA.

Went to a Starbucks, and then off to a Target to buy a fan for in the back of the van.

We were happy to find these electric car chargers.
We were happy to find these electric car chargers and we hope it is a sign of things to come!

Dave bought some magnets to fix a screen around the window for ventilation.

This is the same KOA that we stayed at last year but the showers are being remodeled and they now have FEMA shower/restrooms due to a water main break.

Dave talks about the odd feelings he gets sometimes and how this KOA is one of the places. Last year, Dave felt like he was being watched.

We asked to be moved to a sunnier spot and it is better than the first place we were at.

We went to Twin Falls to a Wells-Fargo bank and on the way back to Jerome we stopped at the Perrine Bridge to see the Snake River Gorge. The bridge shakes and it is REALLY high up.

Dave confesses his fear of heights and how he challenges it by going to high places.

This is the gorge that Evel Knievel jumped and there is a marker commemorating it. We discuss his attempt.

We went to the visitor center, then had some lunch and then to the KOA. Stephanie got to work while Dave moved camp to the sunnier spot. Dave has been working on the Podcast, no.s 7 & 8. We were in just about the same place a year ago. Stephanie’s stomach makes a statement.

We attended the KOA ice cream social and met some interesting people. We listened into our neighbor’s conversation and one guy had a radio voice, but we decided not to talk to him.

Stephanie has decided that there is only one person named Doug that she likes. (She has since met more Dougs).

After we finished ice cream we went to play Scrabble. We go through some of the details including how Dave bingoed on a triple, scoring 230 points on his first turn. Stephanie battled back valiantly but was unable to overcome this initial obstacle. We both agree that it was a good game.

Our Scrabble game, Dave won by about 100 points.

The tent was set up for appearances but we aren’t going to sleep in it.

We have a couple of days off and tomorrow we are going to see a Japanese internment camp, one of six they had in Idaho.

We, once again, talk about signing off, sponsors and other important stuff and go over why we go to Starbucks when Muggsy’s Beans is our sponsor.
